It is suspended on a 30” multi-strand chain that’s studded with fancy-cut gray and white brilliant diamonds and has a hidden door in the pendant front that opens to reveal the centerpiece of the pendant -a brilliant green, 76.03 ct. hand carved Moldavite Buddha statue serenely placed in the interior with a 22kt yellow gold border.

What is Moldavite?

Often referred to as the “gemstone from space”, Moldavite is is a forest green, olive green or blue greenish vitreous silica projectile rock formed by a meteorite impact in southern Germany (Nördlinger Ries Crater) that occurred about 15 million years ago. It is a type of tektite.

How it was made…

The creation of the piece is a result of Todd’s design being brought to life by the best goldsmiths in the Todd Reed studio, who collaboratively worked together for nearly two hundred hours to create work of art.

Each gemstone is hand-set and painstakingly soldered to the next to form this elongated drop. The Buddha’s door is so expertly blended with the rest of the piece that it is not visibly a door at all and does not disrupt this ingenious design.

A note about “Peaceful Place” from Todd Reed:

“Peaceful Place is special primarily because it deals with deep emotion. It’s beautiful and intriguing and also bears the story of personal growth wisdom and the pain of needing a peaceful place. This piece articulates the beauty around closing down and opening up, reveling your true self or working with polished outside.

Art is simply making an emotion into some kind of deliverable thing, I use my jewelry design to communicate my story.” – Todd Reed
